Statue of woman figure on mausoleum at Elmwood

How to Help

Elmwood Cemetery has very little operational income so it is totally
dependent on volunteers and donations. There is no paid staff.

Show your support with your time and donations
The fourth Saturday of every month, weather permitting, the cemetery hosts volunteer work days from 9 a.m. to noon. Volunteers do everything from
picking up trash, resetting gravestones, raking leaves, cleaning the beautiful Armour Memorial Chapel, to picking up limbs and trimming weeds.

If you or your group would like to help out at one of these Saturday
work days, please contact Elmwood board member, Bruce Mathews, at bmathews2@kc.rr.com.

The most pressing need is financial contributions. Mowing is the greatest challenge. It is such a large undertaking that volunteers simply cannot
keep up. To hire professionals the cost can easily approach $60,000 per year.

Help Restore the Chapel
This historic 100-year-old building is in need of major repairs. It is suffering
from leaks, not to mention non-existent heating and cooling.

If you can help, please call the cemetery office and leave a message at

make a donation by simply clicking on the Donate Now tab.
